Fall 2020 One Room Challenge Week 1 & 2: Office Renovation Plan and Electrical

Welcome back to the blog! If you follow me on Instagram, I posted last week that I was participating again in The One Room Challenge. I am thrilled to be posting again for this round of the One Room Challenge for Fall 2020. We have just loved the completed room from my ORC project I completed in the Spring. Every time I walk in Sophia’s room to tuck her in, we both just lay in bed and look up and her cloud ceiling and talk about her day! She loves her room so much, so rewarding!

I figured that if I participate for the rooms I may be willing to live with sort of done, that I may actually complete them as though I was doing an actual project. Go figure!!

In case you’re unfamiliar with what this challenge is about: The One Room Challenge is hosted annually in Spring and Fall to allow featured designers as well as guest participants (designers and DIY lovers) to share the process of completely transforming or redesigning a space in their homes. A huge thank you to Linda from Calling It Home, who’s the owner & host of this amazing design event! Time allotted to complete our project is 6 weeks. Each week (hopefully) I’ll be blogging and posting on Instagram with progress updates.

Last Weeks Update: Our Motivation and Inspiration Board

I missed posting last week, so let me catch you up to speed. I will be re-doing the office in the front of our house that my daughter works out of. She works as an industrial engineer and has been working in the dark office my ex-husband used for an office for over six years. We just moved her into it when Covid started and it really was not up to the task of what she needs to be productive.

Let’s look at the design board first and then we can take a look at what the office looked like several weeks ago.

This is where we started. Dark and lots of furniture that go moved in from a bunch of different rooms eight years ago.

I brought my electrician in to add a junction box for a ceiling fixture and he pulled wires for the sconces that will be going on the built-ins.

What’s Next?

Built-ins start this week so I’ll be sharing on Instagram if you follow along! Make sure to follow the featured designers and the other guest participants as well!
